The Hiland Choral Department is a place where student achievement, growth, and development are at helm. Throughout this year, students will learn, grow, and thrive in a community of emerging choral musicians dedicated and determined to strive for excellence in the art of choral music. All Hiland High School/Middle School and Elementary choral ensembles are safe learning environments for all students to express themselves and reach their fullest potential.
Choral Program Structure
Elementary Choir (Grades 5+6)
All fifth and sixth grade students at the elementary schools listed below choose to enroll in elementary choir, elementary band, or elementary choir/band. Classes meet 2 times each week for 45 minutes.
Berlin Elementary - Wednesday and Friday, 9:15AM-10:00AM
Walnut Creek Elementary - Tuesday and Thursday, 9:15AM-10:00AM
Winesburg Elementary - Tuesday and Thursday, 7:45AM-8:30AM
Elementary Choir classes at the above schools combine for concerts to form the East Holmes Local Schools Elementary Choir
Hiland Middle School (Grades 7+8)
Hiland Middle School 7th Grade Choir (Curricular)
6th period - open to all students in grade 7
Hiland Middke School 8th Grade Choir (Curricular)
5th period (5C) - open to all students in 8th grade.
Hiland Middle School Chamber Ensemble (Extracurricular)
Auditioned chamber ensemble
Rehearses once per week after school
Open to students enrolled in the Hiland Middle School Choir
Hiland High School (Grades 9-12)
Men's Vocal Ensemble (Curricular)
Open to all Tenor/ Bass students in grades 9 through 12 via voice placement meetings
