Summative Assessment
IMPROVE THE CONNECTICUT RIVER
Use what you learned from Integrated Sciences and Design Technology to complete the following assignment:
Go through the information about plastic waste and its impacts on the water from science AND the information from design about Mr. Trash Wheel, machine learning, and image recognition.
Explore the additional Digital Resources on the Connecticut River and using AI to clean the water internationally.
Design a technology that uses AI machine learning and image recognition to clean plastics and other wastes from the Connecticut River.
Incorporating the design cycle with our image recognition software
Criterion A: Research the issue in the Connecticut River and develop a design brief for your potential design
Criterion B: Using ACCESS FM, create the specifications for your design --> develop rough sketches
Criterion C: Using Google's Teachable Machine, develop an image recognition project that will differentiate between living organisms, plastics, and other solid removable wastes found in the Connecticut River.
Criterion D: Export your project onto a microcomputer, assess its efficacy, and adjust your project as needed.
