My Teaching Philosophy
I have had the pleasure to do what I love for over 20 years, helping children learn! My philosophy of learning is centered on developing the whole child, where the social, emotional, and health/well being aspects of their development go hand in hand with their academic achievement.
Children learn best by doing, so students in my classroom will be engaged in many hands on activities as they explore the daily learning objectives. I hope to instill a love of reading and math, as building a solid foundation during these early years is crucial to their future success.
Students will be encourage to try their best and never give up. As their teacher, I will be their biggest cheerleader in the classroom. I will be sure to provide the support they need, and praise all efforts, as learning takes time. I look forward to helping each student grow and become a more independent active learner.
My Biography
I earned a BA in Elementary Education/Sociology from William Paterson and hold a Standard Elementary Teaching Certification. Upon graduating, I completed my Teacher of the Handicapped Certification at New Jersey City University. I have taken many graduate courses in the area of Language Arts/Literacy back at William Paterson. I have also completed coursework in Educational Leadership, Management, and Policy through Seton Hall University. As you can see, I believe in being a lifelong learner. It is a personal goal of mine to not only have more expertise in my field, but to stay current in the educational trends and be a part of shaping schools and the learning environments to meet the needs of students today. Today's learners will be tomorrow's leaders!
