Welcome to Ms. Drapala's class! In this space, my goal is to foster an environment that supports, guides and inspires each human that steps foot into my door.
Reading and writing are an art. When we read, we are able to understand different perspectives, travel through time, explore lives outside of our own and, most importantly, expand ourselves. Writing offers us the chance to communicate. Whether that be in an essay or a more artistic outlet like narrative writing or poetry, writing allows us to connect and share with others. There is a sense of community and expansion while studying English- making it my favorite subject to study. I am blessed to be able to share a passion that I value so highly.
In 5-3, we will also explore 5 practices: non-harming, truthfulness, non-stealing, wise use of energy and non-grasping. These practices will be the pillars to our classroom environment and behavior.
Teaching is a profession I feel truly blessed to have. I take this role seriously and am grateful for the opportunity it provides me to share, reflect, learn, and grow...not only as an educator, but alongside those I have the privilege of teaching. I look forward to the year ahead with gratitude, purpose, and excitement for all that it will bring.
