About Us
Library Media Specialist - Joshua Strecker
Mr. Strecker began at Hale-Ray in 2024 after working in Montville Public Schools and Regional District 4. He went to UConn for his undergraduate and graduate work. He obtained a library/media specialists certification following graduate studies at Southern Connecticut State University. Mr. Strecker is a proud East Haddam resident, avid disc golfer, and enthusiastic traveler.
Kimberly Crysler
Kim lives in East Haddam with her husband and has two daughters. After working for 16 years at the elementary school, she transitioned to the high school in February 2023, where she currently serves as a Library Assistant and enjoys interacting with the students on a daily basis. Outside of work, Kim loves boating, swimming, gardening, and spending quality time with her family and dog.
Rules and Expectations:
Students should use the library respectfully, keeping in mind that the space is meant for everyone to share.
Check in with Mrs. Crysler or Mr. Strecker when you arrive from another location
You must have permission from your teacher to come to the library
Hours:
The library is open daily from 7:20 am to 2:15 pm
If you'd like to stay after 2:15, please see Mrs. Crysler or Mr. Strecker to make an appointment
Goals of the Nathan Hale-Ray Library:
Enhance Information Literacy
Equip students with the skills to locate, evaluate, and effectively use information from a variety of sources to support academic success and lifelong learning.

Partner with teachers to provide resources, research support, and tools that align with the school's curriculum and enhance classroom learning experiences.

Cultivate a library environment that celebrates diversity and fosters inclusion by creating a safe place for everyone to pursue passions, share ideas, and collaborate in a community that values respect.
