Meet the Teacher

 Welcome Parents! I am Dannielle Benedetto, your child’s “World Cultures Teacher”. It is my  pleasure to say I have been teaching in our school district since 1992 - 30 years! 

My love for art has brought me to the teaching of "World cultures". I am excited to bring art and travel together to open pathways and initiate interest in the children of E.Greeenwich.

This curriculum is developed to support understanding and embrace cultural differences. Teaching diversity, acceptance and inclusion, is an integral part in socialization and applicable to the traits we outline in character education. This will apply to in person learning and also to online presence, thus addressing digital citizenship, cyber safety and etiquette. Digital Media will be used as a tool to carry out goals. 

Students will get exposure to a variety of languages. Software "DuoLingo" will support the role in teaching language. Including Spanish,Italian and French. Language  is the communication tool  that allowed us to pass on  belief and customs. These components make the human process known as “creativity”   very unique to every region. We will explore culture in food, literature, art, architecture, music, fashion, dance and tradition. All while working establishing a sense of self pride and developing healthy peer relationships. 

Study will include Geography, climate and natural resources, basic needs of survival in particular regions. We learn about History. We discover how different Cultures embrace art. We are inspired by Science and nature.  This subject  is a connection between all curriculum content areas!  Not only will your child learn but I do my best that all of my students enjoy and love learning!!!
