Here are some great FREE resources that can be used for additional practice and extra help with reading.
Newsela is a website that levels nonfiction text for students. You can pick the text level so your children can read the news at their own level! Students can log on to Newsela by doing the following:
Username: firstnamelastname@eastgreenwich.k12.nj.us
Password: egsd_ _ _ _ (last four digits of your lunch code)
Flocabulary is a program that uses educational hip hop videos to teach/reinforce a variety of ELA, Writing, and Grammar skills. Students can log on to Flocabulary by doing the following:

Khan Academy has some reading and vocabulary videos that explain in-depth many topics that are covered in ELA.
CommonLit and Readworks have a large selection of fiction and nonfiction text at a variety of levels.
Scholastic Book Wizard is an AWESOME tool that allows you to check the grade level equivalent and guided reading level of your child's books. It will also list the genre and suggest similar books that your child may like to read.
