Class Binder
Throughout the year, your third grader will have a designated binder that will travel from home and school each day. Inside, there will be a folder and HAB (Homework Assignment Book). Please check these everyday for important papers, homework packets, completed work, and/or notes. Their HAB must be signed nightly. Additionally, please place any important papers, notes, change of dismissal forms, or signed items that need to be delivered to me, the office, or any other teacher, inside of the Return to School pocket.
Birthdays
Birthdays are very exciting! Although third graders at Samuel Mickle do not have a celebration with a snack or treat, we will acknowledge your child’s birthday in the classroom. Children are not permitted to hand out birthday invitations here at school.
Snack time
We will have a "working" snack each day, so please make it small and easy to handle. Some good snacks may be a small bag of pretzels, goldfish, cheese-its, a granola bar or fruit. The children are able to bring a water bottle to class or use the water fountain in our classroom at snack time.
Please make sure your child knows the difference between his/her snack and lunch. It would be helpful if the snack were packed separately, making it easier to place it in their desk in the morning.
