Welcome! I have had the privilege of teaching since 2003, but this will be my second year as the art teacher at Jeffrey Clark. Every child that enters my room is an artist with unique abilities. I love watching their little faces light up when we get creative and sometimes even a little bit messy in the art room!
Fun Facts About Mrs. Thomas:
My favorite colors are green and purple.
The sea turtle is my favorite animal.
My family loves Baltimore sports, but I support Philly teams, too!
I would like to learn how to crochet and how to embroider by hand.
I enjoy spending time with my family! We enjoy game nights and exploring new places together.
What Will We Learn in Art? We will learn about the elements of art: line, color, shape, texture, value, form, and space. We will become familiar with the color wheel which includes primary and secondary colors along with warm and cool colors. We will practice how to properly use different art supplies and we will learn about some famous artists, both past and present, too! A full overview of the art curriculum can be found in the Curriculum & Instruction portion of our district website.
