SOCIAL STUDIES

This year in Social Studies we will be exploring the discovery of the North American continent and discovering the creation of our country. We will begin with Chapter 4 of the textbook, when the Spanish first came to Mexico, move onto the founding of the English Colonies, understand the need for Revolution, and the creation of the US Constitution.

Time for Kids: We are fortunate to have Time for KIds magazines sent to us weekly. Students will receive a TFK most Fridays in class. We will read through the magazine together and students will begin a comprehension sheet that goes along with it. If TFK sheets are not completed in class, students are expected to finish at home. Please check HABs for when TFKs are due. (Typically if TFK goes home on Friday, they are due the following Tuesday, but may be turned in earlier.)
