Step 4: Common Pre-Assessments

Create a pre-assessment for each proficiency scale to determine the entry point into the learning plan for each student and help the teacher create flexible groups. 

• The exception is if a standard uses a checklist instead of the proficiency scale for the pre-assessment create a checklist.

• The pre-assessments should include questions/tasks for Developing Level 2 and Proficient Level 3 for each learning target.
