Priority standards do not represent all that you are going to teach. They are the standards that all students must master or reach a proficient level before moving on to the next grade or level.
Supporting standards are important to teaching and learning, however, these won’t be the ones that determine when a child moves to the next level of standard or content in the continuum of learning. The place where the priority standards and supporting standards are to be identified is in the EYSD Master K-12 Continuum.
The specific directions are as follows:
Use EYSD's Guide to Identifying Priority Standards.
Identify the Priority Standards & Supporting Standards on the EYSD Master K-12 Continuum. Be sure to format the Priority Standards in BOLD font and italicize Supporting Standards in the Continuum of Learning.
