How do I solve the problem questions for the contest?
Sign-up for the Google Earth Engine platform if you haven't already and use Google Earth Engine to solve the problem questions. You can make use of the starter scripts provided with the questions and refer to the resources posted on this website if you feel stuck.
When will I know whether I qualified for Round 2?
Once you've submitted your answers and scripts through the form, we will evaluate them and email you on January 4, 2018 to let you know if you've qualified for Round 2. If you did not receive an email from us, this means that you weren't eligible to qualify for the next round.
My friends might be interested in participating, how do I spread the word?
Share a link to the contest website via social media or email. Remember, only university/college students are allowed to participate in the challenge.

I missed the submission deadline, what do I do now?
We're sorry, this is a contest adhering to certain rules. To be fair to other participants, we cannot make any exceptions if you miss the submission deadlines.
What is the EE India Community-on-Air session?
It is a periodic livestream webinar initiative by the community to bring together users of Earth Engine across locations in India for a virtual meet-up. The first livestream webinar event will take place on Dec 1, 2018 and we will be announcing the contest, teaching some EE concepts like functional programming and answering questions from you during the event.
The second event will take place on Jan 5, 2019 and we will announce ROUND 2 challenge question during the event.
Please note that Google is participating as a Guest Speaker on the EE India Community-on-Air series and is not an organizer or owner of the event.
What language does my code need to be in?
Your submitted script must use the Google Earth Engine platform and the code-editor, hence it needs to be in javascript. Please share links to the Earth Engine script only, do not share any other code or output files with us in the form.
How do I share my scripts?
Click on the 'Get Link' button in the code-editor to share your script.
Form shows 'must be a Valid Url' error when I try to enter a link to my script under 'Paste the link to the script that supports your answers' question in the form. What do I do?
Please ensure that the url you enter looks something like this: 'https://code.earthengine.google.co.in/fb755aa1a0a49705f48db4dc8c9a2383'
Make sure that the url is prefixed by 'https://' or 'http://'.
Form shows answer 'must be a number' error when I try to answer the question.
Hint: The answers to those questions must be quantitative (numbers) in the form of integers or decimals. Please don't try to enter text characters in that field.
