What: Two days of Earth Engine workshops for beginner and intermediate users.
Where: Google Office, London, UK
When: June 6-7, 2024, 9:00 - 17:00
Who: These workshops are best suited for researchers that are already familiar with some form of Earth observation / remote sensing data analysis techniques. These workshops are small and intended to serve regional users. This workshop is only available for in-person attendance. It will not be streamed and will not be available online.
Cost: Free, but space is limited, so there's a chance we won't be able to accommodate everyone. Registration is required.
This session will start with an overview presentation of "What Is Earth Engine", followed by a hands-on workshop that takes participants through the basics of getting up and running with Earth Engine. You will learn how to perform tasks such as image visualization, time-series compositing and areal statistic computations using the Earth Engine API and interactive development environment.
If you've never attended an Earth Engine Workshop or if you're new to using Earth Engine, this is the session for you.
This session will expand on the morning's introduction with a deeper dive into land cover classification, optical and radar data fusion and multi-temporal compositing and classification.
Day 1, 17:00 - 18:00: Networking
We'll provide afternoon refreshments and an opportunity to network with other Earth Engine users as well as some of the Earth Engine team.
In this session we will discuss a variety of advanced Earth Engine topics around machine learning and artificial intelligence, including the unique Dynamic World, CCDC and CS+ datasets available in Earth Engine, Deep Learning with Vertex AI, and data extraction and preparation.
This session will cover a variety of topics related to operationalizing Earth Engine workflows including a hands-on session building a real-time alerting system, deploying an code as an Earth Engine App, large scale data upload and download, integration with Google Big Query, and more.
