I'm glad you asked!
First and foremost, chicken tenders are my absolute favorite food. Now that the important information is out of the way, I think you pretty much know me! I love: entertaining just about anyone, sitting outdoors by a fire, swimming, summer is hands-down my favorite season, socializing, laughing until my abdomen hurts, going on adventures, and so much more.
I think it's traditional to put in where you're from so here is the summary: I'm not really from anywhere, which kind of sounds depressing when you think about it. Growing up I moved 12 times to be exact. My family currently resides in the beloved land of Iowa, which is where I graduated high school. I have lived everywhere from Nebraska to England to Belize. I think I should state that: no, my parents weren't in the military.
If you have any further question, I am happy to give an appropriate answer!
This is a completely valid question. As the parent, you have every right to know full disclosure of your child's education.

If you get anything from this synapsis of me, hopefully it's what follows: I absolutely love working with adolescents. The older grades are my favorite (5th-9th). There is so much development and changes happening during this time period; often, students are misunderstood.
I full heartedly believe in the importance of education. Many times it's looked over and underappreciated. Will your student use the quadratic formula during their daily adulthood life? Most likely not. Will they have to use the scientific steps to prove the genuine basis of cardinality? Also no.
With that being said, there are many skills obtained via higher level thinking, Bloom's Taxonomy, challenging opinions, defending reasoning, and so on. The fruit of their heavy labors will be reaped years down the road which is often frustrating for both the learner and the parent.
I assure you, that through their procrastination and tantrums will excel an outstanding citizen that handles stress, differing opinions, autonomy, among plethora of other invaluable skills.
My mission is to ignite the natural internal desire to be an active learner for the rest of your students' lives. Education is a precious gift that many overlook and I'm determined to change that perspective.
