Day 4 - Climbing, zip line and Adventure Walk

Today was the day we had all been looking forward to! Conquering the climbing wall, wizzing down the zip line and sliding down waterfalls on the Adventure Walk. Our day didn't disappoint.

We all faced our fears and stepped up to the challenges ahead of us, There were nerves, there was anticipation but there was determination and bravery by the bucket load.

Day 3 - A brilliant day at the beach

After another good nights sleep we were woken up by Mr Callum ringing a very loud morning bell. We were all up, dressed and ready for breakfast on time. We were excited about the day ahead of us - we were all heading to the beach. 

We loaded the minibuses and drove the 1 hour and 30 minutes to Caswell Bay. Caswell Bay is part of an area of Wales called the Gower Peninsula. The gower is well known for its beautiful beaches and dramatic coastline. This Pendarren activity has always been a favourite of both the Earlsmead children and the staff over the years and today didn't disappoint.

First we headed for the rock pool habitat to search for sea creatures. We found crabs, some tiny but also some much bigger. A species of fish called a Blenny and some shrimp. Once we had studied the creatures and found out more about them we put them back into their rock pool homes. 

We ate our picnic lunch together and played in the sand. The sun came out just in time for us to go into the sea and have a splash around - it was cold but so much fun. 

Ice creams from the beach shop was the best way to end our day.  Plenty more adventures and memories to be made tomorrow!

Day 2 - Canoeing and Mountain Walk (Tor-y-foel)

After a good nights sleep everyone was up and ready to go when the morning bell rang. Well actually Ms Jas blasted Backstreet Boys into our rooms and we had a 7:15am disco!

Breakfast filled us up nicely so we were ready for the day ahead of us. We all did the same activities split across both halves of the day. 

Canoeing really tested our communication skills and it was vital that we worked together as a team to move along the canal. Everyone tried hard to use the paddling skills we had been taught by our Pendarren instructors. 

Walking up the mountain (Tor-y-Foel) was such an amazing experience. As we walked higher the views became even more breathtaking; we could see for miles in every direction.

After dinner we had some free time to play in the garden, draw, dance and get involved in a game of UNO.

On our way . . .

After a super early start, we were finally on our way to Pendarren House in Wales for our Year 6 residential. We had lots of fun on the coach. Some of us slept, some of us played Uno and some of us took the opportunity to catch up with our friends. We had a short break in Reading, where were able to stretch our legs for a bit before we were back on the road. After nearly five hours, we finally arrived and our adventure was about to begin . . .
