ORAL READING

Grades 6-8

     Oral Reading is reading out loud for entertainment. In this contest, students shall read a 5 minute selection to a judge.  Each selection may be a single reading, an excerpt from a longer selection, or a combination of several selections.  Scoring is based on the presentation of the selections including clarity, diction, use of gesture and vocal characterization. All contestants will read 6th gr will read POETRY and 7/8th gr PROSE for the 2025 Meet.
