The Texas Lone Star Reading list is a recommended reading list developed by public and school librarians from the Young Adult Round Table.  The purpose of the list is to encourage students in grades 6, 7, or 8 to explore a variety of current books.

The West Ridge Library encourages all of our students to participate in the Lone Star Reading Program throughout the school year.  You never know, you just might find your new favorite book! 

Lone Star books can be logged by filling out the 2025 Texas Lone Star Book Form below. Students receive prizes based on the number of books they have read.

5 Books: free book

10 Books: free book & 10 paw prints

15 Books: free book, 10 paw prints, coupon

20 Books: free book, 10 paw prints, & a Barnes & Noble gift card

25 Books: Lone Star Pizza Party including a movie, free book, 10 paw prints, notebook, & a Barnes & Noble gift card
