Allison Scacco is one of the newer members of the The Learning Center staff. She has been the English teacher here for the past three years. As an 18 year veteran of Westlake High School, she and has taught Junior and Senior English throughout her time at the high school level. Allison has a heart for creating a comfortable classroom culture and giving students opportunities to be their best in a safe environment. Her goal is to create life-long learners who can communicate respectfully and effectively in a variety of mediums. Her classes will read, write, talk and listen on a daily basis in order to grow these skills. Allison has an undergraduate degree in Humanities and Masters in teaching from Trinity University. As a former Kindergarten teacher and college basketball coach, she is prepared for anything! She is also the mother of 3 young children and puppy mom to three furry friends.
My name is Renee Suttle-Field (AKA Renee Field) and I am thrilled to be part of the TLC team. The TLC staff are always striving to work with students in making positive connections. As we all learn to "manage ourselves" in our TLC journey, we will keep coming back to how we are intertwined and how important it is to develop relationships and make those connections all through our lives. I have been working with students from Kindergarten through High School for over 40 years and understand the partnership needed with students.
I have been blessed in life with twins--Gage and Ella who are now sixteen and continuing their high school journey at WHS as Juniors! I have a spouse--Kay. We were "engaged" for 34 years and have been married ten years!
Please call me or email me if you have any questions or concerns.

My name is Max Smith. I am in my 6th year at TLC and my 26th year of teaching in Eanes ISD. I taught 1 year at Noblesville High School in Noblesville, IN. I am from Indiana and I attended Indiana University. I am a Hoosier -- but also a Longhorn fan as I’ve spent nearly a quarter century of my life here in Austin. My wife (Corinne -- Dental Assistant) and her daughter (Zoe - incoming freshman at the University of Arkansas) are my family and we have 3 cats -- Bakko, Zeta and Sandy Blue. I teach Statistics, MMA (Math Models and Applications), PreCal and Algebra II here at TLC. I am very proud to be working here with my colleagues Renee Field, David Paschall, Robert Rowland, Allison Scacco and Erik Yeager. I am proud to be working with the students of TLC and find it very rewarding that they are here because they want to be. I enjoy my extended family (4 siblings) and their families and my parents (Max and MaryAnn). We enjoy family reunions during the summers in northern Minnesota at our lake where we fish and swim and do lake stuff.

I have been the student support counselor for The Learning Center for the past 6 years, however I have been involved in the program off and on for the past 25 years. I have worked in the elementary, middle and high school during my career as a school social worker with the Eanes School District.
I attended the University of Texas at Austin and received my undergraduate degree in psychology and then a masters degree in social work. I live in Austin with my wife and we have two grown children and two grandchildren.
My role at The Learning Center is to help support our students by working with them to find their strengths and build their confidence so that they can feel more positive about themselves and their academic abilities as they move forward towards graduation. It is a joy to come work with our wonderful students and outstanding teachers everyday!
