Hello! I'm excited to be teaching chemistry for my 3rd year at Westlake. I graduated from The College of William and Mary in 1998 with a BS in chemistry and a teaching certificate in high school science. I then earned a Ph.D. in polymer chemistry at Southern Miss in 2003. After a postdoc at The University of Texas, Austin in chemical engineering, my husband Geoff and I started our family. We have a fresman at The University of Florida and two kids at Westlake: Aubry is a senior and our youngest, Jude, is in 9th grade.Â
In 2014 I tapped into my artistic and entrepreneurial side and started a non-profit porcelain jewelry company, Remnant Studios, that has donated over $120,000 to groups that fight human trafficking. I've also served as an editor for academic journal manuscripts in the areas of polymer chemistry, neurobiology, and aerospace engineering.
And now I am grateful to get to teach what I love to the young people in my community. I'm looking forward to another fantastic year!
