Hello! This will be my third year teaching, so I'm excited to get the ball rolling again! I lived in Wichita, KS my whole life and graduated from Wichita State in 2021, where I earned my Bachelor's in Physics and Mathematics. Then, I moved to Austin (I've lived here just over three years) and earned my teaching certificate for 7th - 12th grade Physics and Mathematics. After school I also assist the theater department behind the scenes, helping with prop work, costumes, and general student management.
For those who want to know more about me outside of school, you're in luck, because I have a lot of hobbies!
Video Games - I play just about anything and everything. If I don't already have something planned for the day, this is likely what I'm up to when I'm at home.
Board Games - I love playing board games whenever I can, and regularly play D&D.
Language Learning - I am conversationally fluent in Spanish and can speak Japanese well enough! I also took students to Japan this last June and plan to travel to Japan and Korea in summer 2025, so if you / your student would like to join us on the next trip, please feel free to send me an email, I'd love to tell you about it!
Music - I can play piano, trombone, and sing! I was in choir and band all throughout high school and college, and to this day I still love singing, playing, writing, and producing music.Â
Costumes and Propwork - I create costumes for myself and others! I love sewing, leatherworking, woodworking, metalworking, etc. If it's crafty, I've probably tried it before!
Painting - I don't paint too often, but when I do, I love making large paintings and murals.
Science - Not sure if this is considered a "hobby" but I got my degree in Physics because I love anything to do with science. I studied everything from astrophysics to quantum physics, so I'm always excited to talk about that as well!
