About Me

This is my 14th year at Westlake and 32nd year of teaching!

I was born and raised in Schaumburg, IL and studied Math Education at Northern Illinois University. In 1990, I moved to Northern California where I taught both middle school and high school math. I have a masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Chapman University as well as a masters in Educational Leadership from Santa Clara University. I'm also certified to be an Administrator!

We moved to Austin in 2006 with the intention of providing an excellent education for our children. We have not been disappointed!

Matthew, a Sophomore at University of Texas, is studying Chemical Engineering. He is a 2020 graduate of Westlake High School and an all state musician in French Horn. We are excited to see him play his horn again in the UT Orchestra!

Andrew is a Senior at Westlake High School. He loves the challenge of AP classes. He also has great comedic timing. He makes me laugh! He currently has two part time jobs that he enjoys!

This is my 8th year as Department Chair. I work with some of the most amazing people who are dedicated to the success of students. It's always a great day to be a Chaparral!
