Child Development

Over the course of the year, we will focus on knowledge and skills related to the development, care, guidance and protection of children.  We will also study the principles and procedures for promoting the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of young children, including those with special needs.  Other topics include child nutrition; the impact on development and health; public policies affecting children; characteristics of quality childcare; and career options related to the care and education of children.  As we visit with children you will have the opportunity to interact and guide children in their education.
