About Ms. Beyer!

Hi! Welcome to my website! I am so excited for this upcoming school year and cannot wait to work with y'all on some math!

2025-2026 will be my sixth year teaching and third year at Westlake High School! I moved to Austin two years ago and I love it! I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, and spent a lot of time in San Diego, California. I played volleyball in college at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon. I earned my Masters in Teaching with an endorsement in Advanced Mathematics. I then moved away from the West Coast and spent three years teaching math in Kansas City, Missouri (GO CHIEFS!!!). All my family is on the west coast (best coast) so I wanted to move closer to home which is what brought me to Austin, Texas!! I am so grateful to be at Westlake High School. 

I have three older siblings. Kristen is a retired Army Helicopter Pilot and a Mom of three little ones in Seattle, Washington. Ashley is a Research Administrator in South Lake Tahoe, California. My brother Billy is an Insurance Agent in San Francisco, California. 

My hobbies include working out, hiking, relaxing on the beach (Del Mar, of course!), going to just about any sporting event, reading books (romance, thrillers, and mysteries), trying new restaurants, and traveling!! I also enjoy hanging out with family, friends, and my dog Brandi. 

I absolutely love teaching and I am looking forward to seeing what this year has in store. I am all about building relationships with students. I believe that the best learning takes place when you feel comfortable in your learning environment and trust one another. I care about each and every one of my students and I always try to think about new ways to connect and make everyone feel welcome. 

Being a huge sports fan, growing up playing all sports, and playing volleyball in college I plan to to attend as many games and events as possible here at Westlake! 

I can't express how excited I am to teach at Westlake High School, and how passionate I am about teaching math!! Get ready for a great and fun year!!
