AP Physics C
Course Overview
AP Physics C is equivalent to a full year freshman college level calculus-based Physics course. A steady pace is maintained throughout the year in order to master the objectives outlined by the College Board. Students are required to integrate their math abilities with science knowledge, reading comprehension and problem-solving skills in order to be successful.
The course is broken into two segments: Mechanics and Electricity and Magnetism. In AP Physics C: Mechanics we will cover kinematics; Newton’s laws of motion; work, energy, and power; systems of particles and linear momentum; circular motion and rotation; oscillations; and gravitation. In AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism we will cover electrostatics; conductors, capacitors, and dielectrics; electric circuits; magnetic fields; and electromagnetism. Introductory differential and integral calculus is used throughout the course.
