Welcome back Chaps! I am very excited to be teaching on-level World History for the 2025-2026 school year at Westlake High School. Westlake H.S. is a very unique and special place!
The following is a little background information about me in order to help you to get to know me.
I hold a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Management degree from Texas State University and a Master's of Science in Education - Sports Management degree from Baylor University. I hold Texas teaching certificates in Social Studies 7-12, Business - Basic, Speech 7-12 and Physical Education All Levels.
This will be my fifth year at Westlake High School after teaching and coaching at Cedar Park High School previously. I have also had teaching/coaching stops at my alma mater, Dickinson H.S., as well as Round Rock Westwood H.S., Georgetown H.S., Round Rock Stony Point H.S. and Hutto H.S. prior to Cedar Park.
I am originally from Dickinson, Texas, where I was a student-athlete in football and baseball. I was a four-year letterman and two-year starter on the offensive line for the Texas State Bobcats. I entered the coaching profession as a graduate assistant coach on offense with the Baylor University football program. I then began my teaching and coaching journey in Texas high schools in the Fall of 2000.
I enjoy spending time with my family and supporting their interests, traveling and being outdoors.
I am passionate about helping students make relevant connections with common themes within world history which contributes to developing a spirit of life-long learning. I am committed to helping students with refining soft skills such as time management, using respectful language and confidence in their communication that will help them both in the present as well as in the future. I look forward to getting to know all of my students this year. Let's make this a great year! Go Chaps!
