Joel Sokness

Hello! My name is Joel Sokness. I am starting my 13th year as one of the Collaborative Teachers at Valley View Elementary. And, I'm starting my 19th year of teaching. I've taught grade levels from kindergarten to eighth grade. I graduated from the University of Houston in 1997 with teaching certificates in regular and special education. During my time at Valley View, I have also earned my GT and ESL certifications.

I am not a native Texan (but I love this state and will never move again). I was born in Iowa and have lived in Wyoming, New Hampshire, and Alabama. But, the majority of my life has been somewhere in Texas.
