Important Information for Violinists – TMEA All-Region 32

For the 2025–2026 All-Region Orchestra, 28 violinists will be selected through the audition process.

In August 2025, the Region 32 Orchestra Division voted to adopt a new and permanent method for assigning violin sections. This policy was developed and approved by the Region 32 membership to ensure balanced strength, musical excellence, and consistent section leadership across the ensemble.

New Assignment Procedure:

• Odd-numbered chairs will be assigned to Violin I

• Even-numbered chairs will be assigned to Violin II

This method replaces the previous practice of assigning chairs 1–14 to Violin I and chairs 15–28 to Violin II. The new structure guarantees that both violin sections include highly skilled players, creating a stronger, more cohesive sound for the entire orchestra.

Both Violin I and Violin II are equally vital to the performance of the ensemble. The parts are written to complement and support one another, and success depends on the full participation and commitment of all players—regardless of section.

This assignment process is region policy and applies equally to all students. No exceptions or changes will be made for individual preferences or requests.
