Welcome to 1st Grade!
My name is Sara Stenke and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this school year! I am looking forward to another year being a part of the Bridge Point community. This will be my 5th year teaching 1st grade. I attended the University of Michigan, where I pursued my elementary education degree with a focus in integrated science. This year I am excited to also start working towards my Master Degree in Literacy! I am passionate about finding creative and hands-on ways to instill a love for learning into the classroom using this focus. I love being a teacher and I’m looking forward to getting to know you and your child and watching them grow this year. I strive to make the classroom a fun, safe, and inviting place where curiosity drives our learning. First grade is such a special year filled with lots of fun and exciting learning opportunities and I am very excited about what is in store for your child this year and being a part of their journey 😊
In my free time you can find me working out, reading a good book, grabbing a coffee and going for a walk, or watching sports. I’m a big Michigan football, Detroit Lions, and Manchester United Soccer fan so my fall is full of enjoying various sports games. I am also a huge foodie! My partner, Jordan, and I met at the University of Michigan! He is currently in school at UT for his Doctorate in Violin Performance.
We have 3 cats! Remus (in the middle) and Nala (on the right) we have had since they were kittens and are now both 4 years old. Peach (on the left) is the newest addition to our family and brings all the energy of a 1 year old orange cat!
