 I am proud to be starting my 18th year at Forest Trail Elementary. I spent my first nine years here teaching first grade, and this will be my eighth year serving as the Gifted and Talented Specialist. I’ve been an educator for 28 years, with previous teaching experience in Austin ISD, Lake Travis ISD, and Frenship ISD in the Lubbock area.

I grew up in Austin and graduated from Westlake High School in 1991, where I enjoyed Teen Teaching, played basketball, and was a cheerleader. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Applied Learning and Development with a focus in reading from the University of Texas at Austin in 1996. In 2013, I completed my master’s degree in Elementary Education through the PTEP program at Texas State University, funded by the Eanes Education Foundation.

Outside of school, I love spending time with my wonderful husband and our two amazing children. We also share our home with our yellow Labrador retriever, Ace, and our basset hound, Ruby. Our family enjoys cheering for the Westlake Chaparrals, Texas Longhorns, Dallas Cowboys, and Texas Rangers. We’re also proud supporters of the U.S. Naval Academy, where our son is a midshipman, and the University of Georgia, where our daughter will begin her freshman year this fall.
