Sara Russell

About Me

I am so excited for another fantastic year at Barton Creek Elementary! This will be my 11th year in 3rd grade at BCE and my 16th year of teaching. Previously, I taught 1st and 4th grade in the Leander school district.  

I grew up in the Dallas area, but moved here to go to Southwestern University in Georgetown. I fell in love with Austin and have been here ever since! At Southwestern, I earned a degree in Psychology with a focus in Developmental Psychology.

My own children loved their time here at BCE. They are both at Westlake High School now (freshman and junior). 

When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my children and family. I also love live music, trying out new restaurants, reading, and traveling.  

I am so excited to work with you and your amazing children this year! Our classroom will be a place where everyone is valued and included. We’ll work together as a team, supporting each other and growing together. I can’t wait to see all the incredible things we’ll accomplish on our learning adventure!
