All about Mrs. Medina!
Welcome to our school family! My name is Rachel Medina, and I am ecstatic to be your 3rd Grade Teacher! I am originally from New Braunfels, Texas. Austin became home while attending The University of Texas at Austin - Hook 'Em Horns! My teaching career started in Round Rock ISD upon graduating from UT with my Bachelors in Applied Learning and Development. I taught for 5 years in grades 4th and 1st in RRISD before relocating to Tampa, FL. I taught for an additional 15 years while in Tampa. For 10 of those years, I had the wonderful opportunity to teach (grades K and 2nd) at our top rated neighborhood school where both my children (Cam and Hannah) graduated from. While teaching in Florida, I acquired my Reading Endorsement as reading is near and dear to my heart.

My family and I are thrilled about our move back home to Austin! My son, Cameron, will be attending the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and playing baseball for the Falcons - Falcons Up! My daughter, Hannah, is thrilled to be joining me in this amazing school district as a rising 8th Grader! AJ, my husband, is looking forward to expanding his business here in Austin.

In our spare time, you can find us strolling to near by parks and restaurants with our precious, four legged baby Charlie or cheering on our kiddos at a Volleyball or Baseball event! We LOVE sports in our family and enjoy going to different sporting events!
