Hello! My name is Rebecca, I am excited to start my third year here at Westlake High school as the ASL 2 teacher!
A little about me:
I was born Deaf and raised in a Deaf family where ASL has always been our primary mode of communication. Growing up, I was mainstreamed in a public school, and then attended to two Deaf schools during my high school years. I graduated from Gallaudet University with a Bachelor's Degree in Communication Studies then a Master's Degree in Sign Language Education.
I have experienced teaching in two different countries, Czech Republic and Australia, and taught ASL during the summer at the University of Texas. With the experiences that I have gained, I look forward bringing them here at Westlake and to teach you the language I use everyday!
