Your student will be learning about Texas History this school year. We begin with the geography of Texas learning about the Coastal Plains to Mountains and Basins regions of West Texas. Students will hear all about our great state from a time of national independence to a the beginning of statehood as the 28th state in the Union. We finish the year with Oil and Gas learning about Spindletop, our most famous gusher in Texas history.
Students will need pens/pencils, a folder for paper copies, glue sticks, and please bring a box of tissues for the class. We will use the iPad almost everyday, so the students need to bring a CHARGED iPad to class as well. All other supplies are available in the classroom such as markers, map pencils, rulers, and scissors.
Textbooks are made available on-line through the district. WE will load the McGraw Hill Texas History book on the IPADs at the start of the year. Also, hard copies are available in-class as a set of 30.
We will use the IPADs as well for both day-to-day use and project work.
