In Alhambra, Granada. Spain 2022
Hi! My name is Emily Jabali, and I’m proud to be part of the Hill Country Middle School team for my 8th year. I’m especially honored to teach in the very district that shaped my own educational journey—I’m a graduate of Westlake High School (Class of 2010) and a lifelong member of the Eanes community.
I grew up on the Texas border, where I learned both Spanish and English simultaneously. This early bilingual experience inspired my passion for language and education. I earned my degree from the University of Texas at Austin, where I studied Spanish for Language Teaching and Geography. Before becoming a classroom teacher, I spent over four years supporting Westlake students as an academic tutor and study skills coach.
Pursuing my dream of becoming a teacher, I returned to UT to complete the UTeach Liberal Arts program, an exceptional experience that gave me powerful insights into effective and student-centered teaching. During that time, I interned and student-taught at Westlake High School, further deepening my connection to our district and its learners.
I am now proud to serve as a Cooperating Teacher for the UTeach Liberal Arts program, mentoring future educators as they begin their own journey into the classroom. It’s a privilege to support both my students and the next generation of teachers.
I am truly grateful to be part of this community and excited for another amazing school year at HCMS!
