About Ms. Harmon

Natalie Harmon

Welcome to my website. I am very excited to be teaching Economics & AP Macroeconomics for the 2022-2023 school year at Westlake High School.

I'd like to share a little about my background, for you to get to know me.

Education: I earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Studio Art from California State University, Chico in 2005, a Master's degree in Business Administration from Marylhurst University in 2011, and recently I completed my Master's degree in Secondary Education from Texas State University, San Marcos in spring 2018. I hold a teaching credential in Social Studies 7-12.

I joined Westlake High School in Spring 2018 teaching World History. During 2018-2019, I taught Government and Economics, which are my favorite subjects. I now teach Economics & AP Macroeconomics. I love teaching Seniors!

I am originally from Simi Valley, California and I've lived in Texas for 10 years. I enjoy reading, going to the movies, spending time with family, exploring Austin, traveling, glamping, going to concerts and comedy shows.

I am passionate about helping students connect the dots between our past and our present, as well as, connecting real life to the content, through the use of current events and their own personal experiences. I strive to help them develop a spirit of life-long learning, and hone the skills that will help them today and in the future. I look forward to getting to know all of my students and their parents.

It's going to be a great year. Go Chaps!
