Hello Families,
My name is Claudia Estefania Baca Pinedo, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as your child’s Kindergarten teacher at Barton Creek Elementary! This will be my second year at both the school and in the district, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to continue this amazing journey.
My story began in 2017, when I moved to the United States as part of an international exchange program. Leaving my family behind in Peru was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever made, but it also marked the beginning of a transformative chapter in my life. That experience challenged me, shaped me, and ultimately led me to discover my true passion—teaching.
Although I originally earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business, my heart found its home in education. After working with children, I knew I had found my calling. I recently graduated with a Master’s degree in Education from Texas A&M University in December 2024—Gig ‘Em Aggies!
Being a teacher is more than a job to me—it’s a dream come true. I am genuinely excited for the year ahead and can’t wait to witness the growth, joy, and progress of each and every student in our classroom. It’s a privilege to play a part in their educational journey.
A little about me: I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for almost four years, and have been together for six years! We live in South Austin and share our home with our sweet dog, Rafi. I’m an avid runner, and I love starting my mornings with a good run—it gives me the energy and focus I need to be the best teacher I can be. My husband and I often run races together, and we’ve completed both half and full marathons! We also love to travel, explore new places, and—most importantly—try new foods (we loooove food!).
Thank you for trusting me with your children this year. That trust is something I value deeply, and I look forward to building a strong, collaborative partnership with each of you. Together, we’ll celebrate our students’ unique cultures and backgrounds, support their learning, and cheer them on as they reach new milestones.
Let’s make this a year full of joy, growth, and memorable moments. I can’t wait to get started!
Warmly,
Mrs. Pinedo
