Hello, Families!
My name is Claudia Estefania Baca Pinedo, and I am thrilled to introduce myself as your child’s Second grade teacher at Barton Creek Elementary! This will be my third year at both Barton Creek and in the district, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity to continue this incredible journey.
My story began in 2017 when I moved to the United States from Peru as part of an international exchange program. Leaving my family behind was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made, but it also marked the beginning of a life-changing chapter. That experience challenged me, helped me grow, and ultimately led me to discover my true passion—teaching.
Although I originally earned a Bachelor's degree in Business, my heart found its home in education. After working with children, I knew I had found my calling. In December 2024, I proudly earned my Master's degree in Education from Texas A&M University. Gig 'Em, Aggies!
Being a teacher is much more than a job to me—it is truly a dream come true. I am so excited for the year ahead and cannot wait to watch each student learn, grow, and gain confidence. It is a privilege to be part of such an important stage in their educational journey.
A little about me: I have been married to my wonderful husband, James, for almost five years, and we have been together for seven years. We live in South Austin with our sweet dog, Rafi. This summer, our family grew in the most wonderful way—we welcomed our baby boy, Jacob, who is now three weeks old. He is the joy of our lives, and James and I are beyond grateful and overjoyed to have welcomed him into the world. Becoming parents has been the greatest blessing, and we are soaking up every precious moment with him.
As many of you may already know, I am currently on maternity leave spending these special first weeks with baby Jacob. I will be returning to Barton Creek on November 2, and I am so excited to begin this school year with your children when I return.
I want to sincerely thank you for your patience, kindness, and understanding as our family celebrates this special season. While I am away, the amazing Tracy Steingold will be teaching our class and caring for our sweet kiddos. I have complete confidence that your children will be in wonderful hands with her, and I know they will have a fantastic start to the school year. I look forward to joining them in November and continuing the incredible learning and memories they will have already begun together.
I can't wait to make this school year one filled with learning, laughter, growth, and unforgettable memories. Here's to an amazing year together!
Warmly,
Mrs. Pinedo
