Math 7/8

Course Description

Math 7/8 is designed to prepare a student for the rigors of Honors Algebra I. Students will master prerequisite concepts and skills through bell ringers designed to ensure that they comprehend Math 7 standards prior to each Math 8 lesson. Various concepts will be reviewed and extended. These include rational numbers & operations, proportionality, expressions & equations, slope & linear algebra, geometry & measurement, data analysis, financial literacy, and probability. Because Math 7/8 students take the Math 8 STAAR, probability, which is not assessed in Math 8, will be taught after the STAAR test has been administered in the spring.
