About Me

This is my 11th year at BCE and I love it!

I grew up in a suburb of Washington DC, went to The College of Wooster in Ohio then went on to earn a Masters in Social Work from Washington University in St. Louis. After life as a social worker, I returned to graduate school to study business, earned an MBA, and worked in sales and marketing in the oil industry.

Eventually, I moved to Austin and returned to my childhood dream of being an elementary school teacher just like my mom and my grandmother. I have a daughter, Becca (20), Westlake High School (WHS) graduate and third year student at The College of Wooster; my alma mater! She is studying biology and is a member of the swim team. My two stepsons also graduated from WHS. Matthew (33) is an LSU graduate living in New Orleans working in the tech industry and playing music. Mack (30) is a Texas Tech graduate and residential real estate agent in Austin.  We have a dog named Dwight Shrute, after a character on The Office; one of my daughter's favorite shows. 

Reading, gardening, exercising, practicing yoga and spending time with my family are my favorite pastimes. I am looking forward to spending this year with 5th grade students and families.
