I am so excited to be teaching AP Art History at Westlake High School! After 28 years of teaching, I turned in my retirement paperwork last year, but when this dream job presented itself, I rescinded my retirement.
After earning my BA in French and Art History at Austin College (Sherman, Texas), I worked for several years in arts management, including five years at the Tony Award-winning La Jolla Playhouse in San Diego, California. I got my start in public schools as a French teacher at Burbank High School in San Antonio. The next year, I moved to Lake Travis High School, where I taught French and English in addition to AP Art History. In 2019, I was honored as Lake Travis ISD Teacher of the Year, then Region 13 Teacher of the Year, and one of six finalists for Texas State Teacher of the Year.
For the last ten years, I have been an art history reader for the College Board. From 2019-2025, I was part of the stellar English department at Bowie High School. I live in South Austin with my two cats and my husband, who is also a teacher.
