My name is Maritza Castañeda, and I’m a bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist excited to meet your little Blue Jays! I earned my Master of Science degree from The University of Texas at El Paso, then moved back to Austin to be closer to family and enjoy the beautiful natural scenery.
Before entering the school setting, I had the opportunity to work with both pediatric and geriatric populations within inpatient, outpatient and private practice. Last year, I loved diving into the school environment at Valley View, and I’m thrilled to continue supporting student growth at our new school!

Hello! I have been a bilingual SLP for 4 years and have experience in outpatient and inpatient rehabilitation with both pediatrics and adults. I have always had a love for the more creative side of Speech Therapy and that led me here to Valley View Elementary! I enjoy utilizing a child led therapy approach and finding ways to make our sessions as functional for core vocabulary as possible. I look forward to meeting all of the new students and collaborating with you all to increase their communication success via the most effective communication modality for them.
