About Me

Hello, My name is Linda Hargis, and I'm excited to continue my role as a Campus Support Specialist! This is my 14th year teaching and 3rd year at Cedar Creek Elementary, where I am a reading intervention teacher and Wilson Reading dyslexia practitioner. Before making the move to Cedar Creek, I taught 4th grade for 10 years and reading intervention at Valley View Elementary. Working daily with small groups of students from each grade level and witnessing their reading growth is the absolute best part of my job!

Dave and I have been married for 34 years and have 3 wonderful adult kids who grew up and attended school right here in the Eanes community. Our sweet 2 year-old grandson is such a joy, and we can't wait to meet his baby brother--arriving in late November! Outside of school, I love spending time with family and friends, volunteering in the community, spending time outdoors, traveling, and cooking. Last summer, we were blessed to add a 4 year-old golden retriever, Sally, to the family. She is now a certified therapy dog and is eager to attend school with me each Tuesday! She thrives on the snuggles with students and staff across our campus and brings lots of smiles and joy. After her school day, Sally heads off work for her volunteer job at Hospice Austin's Christopher's House, where she comforts patients, families, and the incredible staff of a truly amazing organization.
