About Me

Hi there! My name is Laura Drummond and I am thrilled to be working as a Modified LA teacher. I grew up in Southlake, TX and graduated from the University of Mississippi with a Bachelor's in Special Education. This will be my eighth year in special education and third year in Eanes ISD. My husband and I are grateful to call Austin our home, and I’m excited to continue growing and making meaningful connections as part of the Forest Trail Elementary community. 

When I'm not in the classroom, you can find me going on walks around Town Lake with my dog, traveling and spending time with friends and family. My husband and I have an exciting year ahead—we're expecting our first child, a baby boy named Drew, at the end of September! We can't wait to welcome him to our family.

As a teacher, I believe that students thrive in a nurturing and inclusive environment where all learners feel safe, valued, and supported. Supporting students with reading and writing is especially close to my heart. I am passionate about helping each child build confidence, celebrate progress, and discover their unique strengths as learners.
