About Me

I moved to Austin in 1991 to attend The University of Texas, graduated, and never left! Austin is the best place in Texas! I've lived in many different parts of Austin over the years, but I'm so lucky to call Lake Hills Estates my home for 14 years!

I have one 8th grader named Savannah that attends West Ridge Middle School and a 12th grader named Maddie at Westlake High School. The other members of my family include my dog Oreo and five chickens.

This is my 10th year at VVE, but my 24th year teaching! I am so fortunate to work with fifth graders at VVE. Their humor, wit, and enthusiasm are what make my job fun! I believe every day is a new day that brings opportunities for, not only my students to learn new things, but for them to show me the world through their eyes. I love watching the growth that 5th graders make while becoming more independent, improving their social skills, developing coping skills to deal with challenges, and increasing self-confidence that enables them to be amazing problem solvers.

This community of learners is like no other. You feel it the minute you walk through the doors at VVE. The warm and positive atmosphere is incomparable! I feel so grateful to work in such an amazing school with kind supportive parents, staff, and students. Here's to a great school year!
