About Me

Hello Eagle families! This year will be my ninth year teaching, and seventh year teaching fourth grade. I teach Language Arts (reading and writing) as well as Social Studies. I have spent most of my teaching career at Barton Creek, and I am looking forward to being a part of the Cedar Creek community this school year.

I am originally from Seattle, Washington where I grew up and attended the University of Washington getting my undergraduate degree in Geography. Prior to teaching in a traditional classroom setting, I worked in outdoor education as well as with youth nonprofits in the Austin area. I then received my Masters in Education from Texas State University in 2017 to start my teaching career.

Outside of school I enjoy travel, gardening, hiking and running. I live with my boyfriend, Brad, and his son who is in middle school. We just moved to a new (to us) home and plan on getting a dog in the near future.

Our classroom is one in which students achieve academic and social emotional growth throughout the year. I have a passion for building relationships with my students. I enjoy unlocking what motivates and excites them as well as helping them find moments to grow outside of their comfort zone. It's going to be an amazing year in fourth grade!
