About Me

I am so excited to begin our year together! This is my second year as a Blue Jay, and my fifth year teaching. Prior to this, I was at Jefferson Elementary School in Pullman, Washington for three years. 

I was born in Washington State, and raised in a military family. My dad's job in the US Navy took us all around the world. I've had the opportunity to live in both Italy and Japan, as well as travel and experience many countries and cultures across Europe and Asia. I graduated from Washington State University with a degree in Elementary Education, and began my teaching journey in Second Grade at Jefferson Elementary School. After three wonderful years on the Palouse, my partner Brian and I were looking for a change and decided to make the move to Austin! We've been here just over a year and are loving it so far. 

Like many PNW natives, I love hiking, camping, and enjoying the outdoors! Creating art, whether it be painting, journaling, or scrapbooking, is my passion (alongside teaching, of course!).  I've recently taken an interest in film photography, and am a lover of lattes, bookstores, and plants.
