Meet Mr. Parsons

Hi, my name is Joe Parsons and I am absolutely thrilled to be back in 5th grade at Bridge Point! I was born and raised in Austin and my brother was a Bridge Point Bobcat. I have a cute wife, two amazing daughters and a sweet dog. I spent 15 years in sales but before that I was an educator in AISD for 5 years and a year at ACE Academy. 

I am a professional comedian and filmmaker and I like to bring that creativity and energy into the classroom. I have performed at the Alamo Drafthouse for almost 20 years, I have written for Netflix, and worked as a video producer. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy going to the movies, being the DJ for my daughters' softball games, and carpentry.

Coming back to the classroom is a dream come true. My real-world experiences bolster my approach to curriculum and lesson planning and I love a student-first community like Bridge Point. I feel that students learn best in a caring, engaging environment where interests are encouraged and the standards are high. I can't can't wait to get started and have some fun!
