About Me

Hi! I'm Josie Ortiz and I'm excited to teach music at Eanes Elementary this year. I began my music journey by being in the 5th grade choir. Through high school, I decided I wanted to make that impact in students' lives through music. After high school, I attended the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. After graduating, I took on teaching private voice and piano before working at Clifton Park Elementary School in my home town Killeen. After three years, I decided to spread my wings and come to Austin. I am very fortunate to be a part of the Eanes Elementary family and am super excited for this school year and all the great things we will do with music.
