I was born and raised in the West Texas city of El Paso, and I’m a proud graduate of UT Austin. Hook 'Em Horns! As an educator, I’ve had the privilege of spending thirteen incredible years teaching in El Paso, San Antonio, Las Vegas, and Austin. Throughout my journey, I’ve taught Math and Science at the middle school level, but my heart belongs to 5th grade, where I’ve had the joy of teaching all subjects. There’s something magical about this grade level, and it’s truly my favorite!
Growing up, Reading and Writing were my absolute passions, and I can’t wait to share that love for language with each of my students. I believe in the power of storytelling and self-expression, and I’m excited to see where this journey takes us.
At home, I share my life with my wonderful husband, Carlos, whom I’ve known since high school. We’re blessed with two amazing kids: Juju, our 9-year-old soccer enthusiast, and Emme, our 5-year-old who loves to dance and draw. We also have an adorable Bernedoodle puppy named Pico, who always manages to brighten our days with his goofy charm and boundless energy. As a family, we’re huge Texas Longhorns fans and never miss an Austin FC game. We love spending time outdoors, whether it’s hiking, nature walks, or visiting Austin’s beautiful libraries. And of course, I’m a fan of anything with chocolate, enjoy reading to my little ones, and can never resist a good movie or live music.
I am absolutely thrilled to embark on this new journey as a Barton Creek Blue Jay! With the support of our incredible staff, students, and families, I know we’ll have a year filled with growth, laughter, and endless possibilities.
