8th Grade Science

Course Overview

The 8th grade science curriculum is a culmination of a lot of the science done in 6th and 7th grade. We visit a lot of familiar topics and go in depth. We also take deep dives into the Earth sciences looking at the forces that shape our planet and the universe around us.

Required Materials/Class Supplies

8th Grade and IPC Science Supply List 2018-2019

  • The most important supply item is a sturdy notebook. It must be 8 1/2" x 11" (for handouts to fit), poly covers front and back, and 3 or 5 subjects
  • A drawing compass (Worth spending a little extra for a quality one...will be used in Geometry!)
  • A ruler with cm and inches
  • Loose Leaf Notebook paper
  • 3-Ring Binder
  • 1 pkg of notebook dividers (optional to organize sections)
  • One or two dozen pencils to be donated to the class "pool"
  • 1 package of markers to be donated to class "pool"
  • 1 package of color pencils to be donated to class "pool"
  • A couple pens, used for grading
  • Study Habits/Planner Book or digital version like iPad
  • Scientific or Graphing Calculator (IPC students only)
